The Fullness of God
When we reminisce about life, we are thinking about all the water that has gone under the bridge. For some of us more water has flowed and we can see that we have more life behind us than we do before us.
Whichever the way it happens to be, we should think about ways that we can better live the rest of our life. How about learning more about what Paul calls the fullness of God.
First ask the Holy Spirit to help you understand the depth of God’s love. We need to understand it in order to walk in it. Then we can serve others out of a heart of love that loves like He loves.
The depth of God’s love means that it is strong, true, giving, honest, deep, sincere, abundant, limitless, and it will go on forever.
The Apostle Paul writes to the Christians at Ephesus that he was praying that God would fill them with the fullness of God. This prayer is also for us, and as we read this prayer, and pray it back to God. Then rejoice as He answers Paul’s prayer and ours.
“That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love. May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God” (Ephesians 3:16-19 RSV).
