It is plain and simple, yet so powerful. It is communicating with God, in Jesus name, and the help of the Holy Spirit.

However, we first must have placed our faith and trust in Jesus and then prayed according to God’s commands.

We must abide in Christ and His Word, John 15:7. God’s Word is God speaking to us and in prayer we are speaking to Him.

A faithful prayer life is built on a foundation of a growing faith and an active worship and praise time that places God on the throne of your heart.

Also, we must never forget to have a thankful heart full of love as we come to the throne of grace with our request.

A praying person receives many positive side effects from being a prayer warrior. It changes our attitude, gives us an inner peace and joy, and spiritual discernment and understanding.

The best gift we can give to another person is our time in prayer for them. When we do this, we are putting aside our time for a moment of service for them.

Our prayers do make a difference in our lives as well as the people we are praying for.

A prayer not prayed is a prayer not answered. No prayer is too small or too large to pray about.

“When I pray, you answer me, and encourage me by giving me the strength I need” (Psalm 138:3 LB).

Have you ever given any thought to how much you talk in one day? Probably not, but it is most likely more than you think.

It has been estimated that the average person speaks eleven million words in a year.

I wonder how many of our words are complaining to someone, about someone, or about something, which would be better if left unspoken.

Also, godly wisdom and common sense, should tell us that there is a lot more importance things to talk about. Grumbling so often is a habit we should break.

We must learn how to apply good manners to our tongue as well as to our actions. This means we have learned to shut our mouth before someone wants to shut it for us.

We all have a mouth full of teeth and beautiful lips and both enclose our hard to tame tongue. So, tighten up those lips and set your teeth into that tongue until it hurts. The things that we decide not to say, can’t come back to haunt us.

Now that we have explored the tongue and that we need to tame it, let us explore what a great instrument the tongue really is when controlled.

It can preach and teach God’s Awesome Word. It is how we communicate wonderful words of praise and worship. It is how we can give out encouragement, kindness, hope, and our love.

We all need words of compassion at the difficult times in our life. They help us to heal our hurts and to feel that someone cares. We must keep our eyes open to see those opportunities. We should embrace them and not brace against them.

God’s best gifts to us are not things, but opportunities to meets the needs of others.

“A man’s heart guides his mouth, and his lips promote instruction. Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones” (Proverbs 16:23-24 NIV).

All of life is about giving. We give INTO putting off making important decisions and we give INTO selfishness and impatience.

We may even give INTO the gas pedal and go too fast and give INTO getting aggravated at other people on the streets and highways.

We may give INTO our weakness for “no no” television programs or certain magazines, or some websites.

We should not give INTO making excuses that is not the whole truth. Excuses only satisfy the one who makes them.

Now let us think about things to give INTO that will be pleasing to God and the people around us.
Give INTO prayer and the studying of God’s Word. Because we must desire it or we will forget to apply it to our day to day living.

Give INTO biblical wisdom and then put it with our knowledge and it will give us discernment and understanding of the best kind.

Give INTO offering a Sacrifice of Praise to God with thanksgiving for what He has done to us.
We have much to Praise God for, because Jesus Christ gave INTO suffering or He could not have died; without dying He could not have made atonement for sin; and without completing His redemptive work, He could not have finished the work of Salvation for everyone!

“Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of our lips that confess his name” (Hebrews 13:15).

Those who have spent any time at all reading the Bible know that it records many appearances of Angels here on earth.

Martin Luther wrote that, “An angel is a spiritual creature created by God without a body for the service of Christendom and the Church”.

Angels are God’s messengers and helpers. Many times people have had something happen in their life and felt that an Angel was a part of it.

We have all looked at a sweet new born baby and called her an Angel, and when one of our children is very compliant and helpful, we will call them an Angel.

Also, when someone has been so kind and helpful to us in a bad time in our life, we will say she or he was an Angel.

I have always enjoyed seeing the beautiful different ways that Angels have been designed. Some have been made in fine porcelain and some made by hand but always made to look kind and beautiful.

I enjoy crafting and making Angles are a large part of what I make by hand and I enjoy it very much.

“Don’t forget to be kind to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing” (Hebrews 13:2 LB)

When you say these two words they sound just a like, but their meaning is worlds apart.

We hear people say every day that they have a long list of wants. I want a better job, I want a new car, I want to go on vacation now or I want a big screen television. This is on someone’s lips every day.

This is human nature to think about what we want next that we think we need and will make us happy. And there is nothing wrong with wanting things, if we are not totally consumed with dreaming about what to buy next.

We should take time to mentally want to make a list of wants that are character building. These should line up with biblical teachings. Life is about living the good life, but with honest values and respect for others.

These are things to acquire that will bless us greatly and fill a void in our hearts that will make us complete and satisfied. Godly values give us hope, makes us blessed, happy, and content.

The scriptures records in Psalm 34:7-10 that the blessing of certain things, is to know Jesus as our Savior and to make Him be the Lord of our life. Also means that we are putting our trust in His Holy Word, acting on it, and then watching it happen.

Blessed is the man who wants to put His trust in the Lord and the fear of the Lord brings no want to them that fear Him. David said in Psalm 23 that The Lord is my shepherd and I shall not want.

Another idea for us to think about is what I won’t do as well as what I want to do as I live a Christian life before others.

Listed below are some to consider.

A wise person wants and seeks godly wisdom and knowledge and won’t feed on foolishness. Wisdom fills the heart of the person who wants understanding and won’t fill the heart of someone who has no desire for it.

The lips of the wise wants to speak knowledge but it won’t come from the lips of the unwise. A person slow to anger sows peace but one who won’t, promotes more anger.

Humility is great gain and the more we have the more we won’t be self-centered. The one who sees the good in others, gains their appreciation and those who won’t will reap the consequences.

A righteous person is content with moderation and won’t allow anyone to tell him differently. A gentle tongue will speak truth and life and won’t let his mouth be full of empty words.

The godly person wants to do things that honors God and won’t knowingly do thing that displeases Him.
Know what you want and know what you won’t and walk in it. Your talk talks and your walk talks, but you walk talks louder.
