PRAYER THOUGHT:

At the beginning of a new year, we most often think about setting some goals, or as some call them new years’ resolutions.

Psalm 91 is one of the most encouraging ones in all of scripture. In verse one it uses the name, the Almighty for God’s name and it means, I am the all sufficient one.

When setting your goals for the coming year, remember to include some of the promises of God, which are in this wonderful psalm.

Determine to live your life in the secret place of the most high and under the shadow of the Almighty. Decide each day that He is your refuge and your fortress, and you will trust in Him.

Determine that His truth will be your place of security. Decide in your heart that you don’t have to be afraid of the terror by day or the terror by night

“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. ‘Because he loves me,’ says the Lord, ‘I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name’ ” (Psalm 91:1 & 14 NIV).
