Ignorance No Excuse

There is two ways that ignorance is shown by a person. One is willful ignorance, which is not good, especially in a court of law. The other one is ignorance of facts and information. However, we all know that a person can’t know everything there is to know.

In other words, we are all ignorant to some degree, but some of us are ignorant because we are too lazy to learn. The worst ignorance anyone can ever experience is the ignorance of God and Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

We have the Bible that tells us fully about Jesus and God. Paul also writes to us in the New Testament that there is no excuse for any of us to be ignorant about God, as even the earth and nature shows us there is a God.

“For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so the men are without excuse” (Romans 1:20 NIV).

Seek Good Thoughts

Everything we do, whether it is good or bad, kind or indifferent, it always begins with a thought.

As a Believer in Jesus Christ, one desire that I have, is training myself to want godly thoughts. It will help if we take time to ask the Holy Spirit to prompt us with godly thoughts.

But I must first read the Scriptures and find out what God’s thoughts and commands are. The Holy Spirit is a blessing and a gift directly from God to help us in many different ways.

A receiving heart should always be a thankful heart, so let’s take time to give praise and thanks for godly thoughts and the wisdom we receive.

Don’t throw them away, but store them up for the time you can use them, because they are better than any you can come up with on your own.

We are susceptible to all the thoughts that are screaming at us on every side. But, if we stay focused, the more unlikely the ungodly bombs that are shot at us can penetrate our store house of good thoughts.

The more we practice godly thoughts, the thicker our wall of protection is. It will screen out most all of the unwanted thoughts.

Choose the best, know the best, be the best and speak the best.

“We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:5 NIV).

Don’t Downsize God

These days we hear the word down-size very often. Some people have gotten down-sized out of their job. Some people are retiring and want to down-size their house.

Without knowing it, we tend to down-size God in our prayers. We may ask God for something but don’t really believe He will answer our prayer.

We should big-size our God and then it would not be big enough. God’s thoughts are not like our thoughts. They are much bigger and more wonderful. As a matter of fact, they are out of this world.

God’s ways are unlimited and supernatural. Our ways are ordinary. Now don’t forget to up-size, big-size, giant-size, or even goggle-size God. Because He is able, more than able, to do anything we can ask or dream of.

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts” (Isaiah 55:8-9).

Fight the Good Fight

We have all heard the saying, “Some things are worth fighting for”. As Believers, we are servants of Jesus Christ and that means there are things we have to fight for.

We have to fight against our old nature, even though we have been given a new nature. We have to understand the Scriptures in order to know what to fight for and what to fight against.

The Apostle Paul tells us in his letter to Timothy that we must fight the good fight, a clean fight, and a just fight. We must fight the things that are not of our belief system, and according to the Bible, and not pleasing to God.

There are many things we hear and see that should not become a part of our life style. We should be very unhappy at things that put down our faith in God. Also, all the things that make fun of Christians.

Fight the good fight and keep the hope of eternal life before you, while you show others the love of God. Be a good witness for all to see.

“Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses” (1 Timothy 6:12 NIV).
