We are not an Orphan

What is the most important: Making a worry list or a prayer list? We should not even think of having a worry list. Jesus has told us that we can cast all our worries over onto Him.

What a wonderful idea, what a privilege, and what a joy to know and then remember to take Him at His word. Worry never solved a problem, but worry can cause a problem, it will make you sick.

However, we do have a responsibility to do all we can to solve our problems, after we give our worries to Jesus. The next thing we should do is to ask Jesus for his wisdom to help us to solve our troubles.

God did give us a brain and certain talents and abilities that we are to use each day. So with our abilities, our prayer to Jesus to take our worries and give us His wisdom, makes for a great team. Go for it and praise Him for the ways that He is going to help us.

It’s not if we will have worries, problems, or troubles, but when. One of the things to do when they come knocking on our door is to send Jesus to the door.

Scripture tells us that Jesus ever lives to have us knock on His door and ask for His help. He neither sleeps nor slumbers and his throne of grace is always ready to hear from us.

Our Heavenly Father loves us, so we are not to live like an orphan. Worry robs, prayer answers, scripture guides, and Jesus is our peace.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God” (Philippians 4:6 NIV).

The Church

The Church

The Church is not a building, but a group of people, who are followers of Jesus Christ. They look to Him as their Savior and Lord.

The Church has as its foundation, the death, burial, resurrection, and ascension of Christ. He gave the Church a commission and that is to reach and teach people, all that He had taught His disciples.

After His ascension, He said that we would have the Holy Spirit’s presence to help the Believers to live for Him and to serve others. We have been sealed by the Holy Spirit of Promise until the day of redemption.

Some people see Believers, who fail to live up to a certain standard, as hypocrites. They think they should live one way and yet they are doing otherwise. However, they are blinded by the truth, because the truth of God is spiritually discerned.

Without a doubt, Born again Believers will fall short of God’s goodness. But, what others cannot see is the heart’s desire of a person and how hard they may be trying to live a Christian life.

Growing as a Believer is a lifelong process and we will fail ourselves and others. To be sure, Satan is always ready to pull us down to his level.

More often than not, Believers will see their sin quickly and wi ll ask God in Jesus name to forgive them and help them not sin in that way again. Most likely, no one will know when this prayer takes place. But God is faithful to forgive our sins, when we sincerely ask Him.

All Believers are a work in progress and is in no way perfect. But, sincere love for God and for others is a way to live life and show God’s love to the world.

“The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned” (1 Corinthians 2:14 NIV).

“The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s Children” (Romans 8:16 NIV).

Jesus, a Stone Most Precious

God must have liked stones as He sure created a lot of them. He made smooth stones, rough stones, tiny stones, gigantic stones and all sizes in between.

God made beautiful stones, precious stones, semi-precious stones, and stones that are the same as the many colors in the rainbow.

Scripture records some very meaningful stories about how stones were used in everyday life. We still use them today in some of the same ways.

Many times the word (stone) was used in making an important point and it helped a per son more likely to remember the wisdom connected to the story.

Stones were used as a weapon in war and we all remember how David killed a giant with one small smooth stone in a sling shot. In Biblical times and also today, we build memorials out of beautiful marble. They are reminders of dates, people, and significant circumstances.

God told Joshua to have 12 men to take 12 stones out of the Jordan River and build a memorial on the other side of the river. This was to remind the people and later generations how God had stopped the flow of the water so everyone could pass over to the other side.

Twelve precious stones were on the priest’s ephod and breastplate and the names of the twelve tribes were engraved on the twelve precious stones. < /SPAN>The priest was to wear these two items, when in the tabernacle ministering before the Lord.

The Holy City, the New Jerusalem will have walls with many precious stone as well as pure gold. They are Jasper, Sapphire, Chalcedony, Emerald, Topaz, Amethyst, and six other different stones. The gates will be made of pearl.

Jesus is referred to as the Chief Cornerstone and the Rock of our Salvation. There is nothing more beautiful than a flawless diamond. Jesus, our Savior and Lord is flawless and a Precious Stone. Peter calls the Believers Lively Stones.

Praise God for the hope we have in the Foundation Stone, the Living Stone, the Chosen Stone, the Sure Stone, the Tried Stone,=2 0and the Elect Stone, Jesus Christ.

“… Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone” (Ephesians 2:20).
