Apples, Onions, Lemons, and Cherries

Eve took a bite of an apple, the fruit that God had told her not to eat and when she did this, she ate us out of home and garden. However, Jesus Christ came and now we can look forward to a new heavenly home and garden waiting for us.

Life on earth can be like an onion. We have to peel off a bad attitude, unhealthy pride, and selfishness. Doing this will be hard to do and will take time and much effort. It may even cause a little crying. Life will sometimes hand us a lemon. Things that will turn sour and we will get bitter and want to give up. But don’t give up, pray for help. His help can turn our bad days into better ones and we can sip on lemon aide and relax.

Is your life a bowl of cherries? As we all know, we will find a few bad cherries in our bowl and most likely lots of pits. This is life, but we can take the good cherries and bake ourselves a delicious cherry pie and serve it with lots of whipped cream. Have fun and share it with all your family, friends and neighbors.

Rejoice in what we have or can have. Roll with the punches. Things never stay the same, so serve the Lord with gladness and know that happiness in this life is not a guarantee. However, we can have JOY, because the JOY of the Lord is our strength

Have a Blessed Day.

An Acrostic of the word Prayer

Prayer is talking with our Heavenly Father and on many different levels of emotions and needs. Prayer is our faith telling God we are trusting in Him to answer our prayers.

(P) P is for Praising God as we come to Him each day in prayer and Professing Him in our realm of influence as we live for Him at our work or play.

(R) R is for Rejoicing for what Jesus Christ has done for us and remembering God for His unspeakable gift, His only Son.

(A) A is for Adoring our God of the Bible and Agreeing that He never changes, not even a showed of change.

(Y) Y is for Yielding to His gift of salvation and the call by the Holy Spirit. Also, Yearning to be faithful to the work He has planned for us before the foundation of the world.

(E) E is for Exalting God for who He is and Expecting His love, mercy, and wisdom to be a part of His answer to our prayers, for which we give thanks.

(R) R is for Repenting of our sins each day as we come to the throne of grace in prayer. Reflecting on His precious Word and helping us to hide His word in our hearts so that we want sin against Him.

P R A Y E R is an awesome gift from God and Jesus sits at His right hand and ever lives to intercede for us. Amen

Honor your Father and Mother

Moses writes in the Book of Exodus 20:12, which is the Fifth Commandment that we are to honor our Father and Mother. Moses writes again in the Book of Deuteronomy 5:16 that we are to honor our Father and Mother.

Jesus says in the Book of Matthew 15:4 that we are to honor our Father and Mother. It is a commanded responsibility.

Next we find that Paul writes in the Book of Ephesians 6:2 that we are to honor our Father and Mother.

This Commandment is the only one that God gives us that has a promise. He is faithful to all His promises. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Do you think God intends for us to honor our Father and Mother? I think so and praise the Lord. Also, we are to do it all the days of our life and not just some of the time when we feel like it.

Don’t try to get out of it or work around it somehow. Don’t do it with your lips only, but in deeds too. It must come from your heart. Celebrate your Father and Mother on their Special Day, for sure. God gave you the Father and Mother that you were suppose to have. God doesn’t make mistakes.

“Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you” (Exodus 20:12 NKJ).
